Among the other interesting places in the Sudetes, it stands out for its distinctive climate, harsher than in other parts of the mountains at the same altitudes. The extreme weather conditions prevailing there are influenced by the area's considerable elevation above sea level and its location at the south-western edge of Poland, the most exposed to cold and humid air masses flowing in from the Atlantic Ocean.
