Between the towns of Leśna and Pobiedna, not far from the Czech border, lie the picturesque ruins in Świecie. The castle was probably built in the 14th century at the command of Duke Bernard of Świdnica-Jawor to protect the route running from Lusatia to Lubań and Jelenia Góra. It was one of the strongholds of the so-called Kwisa District.
