Since the mid-19th century, Grudza had the character of a holiday village, and its German name Birngrutz comes from the pear tree (Birne). Moreover, in Grudza grows an approximately 300-year-old pear tree, one of the thickest in Poland - perhaps even the thickest with a single trunk.
